Harvard's Generative AI Course: What I Took Away
As I’ve mentioned in some previous blogs, I’ve become increasingly interested in artificial intelligence, emerging technology, and the ways they’ll shape our future. Recently, I completed Harvard’s online course on Generative AI, which became another step in continuing that journey.
Rather than introducing me to AI, the course expanded my understanding of where these technologies are headed, how they can be used responsibly, and how quickly they’re beginning to influence nearly every industry. It reinforced something I’ve believed for a while now: AI isn’t just another trend, it’s becoming one of the defining technologies of our generation.
Because of that, I want to continue learning as much as I can about AI and other modern technologies as I get older. Whether it’s through courses, projects, or simply staying curious, I want to make sure I’m constantly building my understanding instead of waiting until everyone else has already adapted. I think one of the biggest advantages someone can have in the future is being willing to learn early and keep an open mind as technology evolves. Every new experience motivates me to keep exploring how these advancements can be applied across different careers and opportunities.
What’s interesting is that these two experiences, continuing my work with COAF and continuing my education in AI, are actually connected more than I thought. One reminds me of the importance of giving back to people and strengthening communities, while the other reminds me how powerful innovation can become when it’s guided by purpose. As technology continues to transform the world, I hope to use what I learn not only to create opportunities for myself but also to make a meaningful impact on others. To me, the future belongs to people who can combine technical knowledge with empathy, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities.
As I continue writing these blog posts over the years, I think they’ll become a timeline of how my mindset evolves. Right now, I’m focused on growing as a student, soccer player, and person, but I’m also becoming more aware of the world that’s waiting after high school.
I want to continue challenging myself with new opportunities, stay curious about the technologies shaping our future, and keep finding ways to give back to the communities that have shaped me. Every course, fundraiser, and experience adds another piece to that journey, and I’m excited to continue building a future where I can make an impact both at home and in Armenia.
